ECHOES OF HARD TIMES

ECHOES OF HARD TIMES

Starting from our homes, to the streets, and to the market
Widespread fire from towns to states and to countries
The melancholy wails of hungry children
Filled everywhere like an ambulance siren

They are dressed to school in rags
They are being taught on empty stomach
These are the children we call tomorrow leaders
Future leaders going on a daily unintended fast

Rising prices of commodities
Inflation finding its place in every corner
The farm producing harvests has failed
And we live our lives like that of a condemned sinner

Through the echoes of hard times
Our selfish leaders live life to the fullest
Forgetting the poverty stricken life of the masses
Turning the national cake into their daily bread

Through the echoes of hard times; we struggle to live
We burdened ourselves till our backs are bent
Through the echoes of hard times; we will fight to realize our dreams
United we will stand till we see this war’s end.
